The Jack Daniel’s label was founded in the late 1800s by Jasper Newton Daniel. The original Old No. 7 recipe was known for its charcoal-mellowed Tennessee whiskey. The brand remains one of the most well-known labels of Tennessee whiskey to this day. The tour of the Jack Daniel’s distillery will cover the history and founding of this iconic brand.
If you’re heading out on a self-guided excursion to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery, the facility is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for tours and tastings. They offer an array of tours, but we suggest “The Angel’s Share,” which includes a tour of the distillery and then “the tasting room in the historic George Green Barrel House and taste whiskey drawn from individual barrels, an honor that was once reserved exclusively for our distillers and tasters.”
For those who would prefer to grab chauffeured transportation, the “Jack n’ Back” Tour is such a lovely day trip out to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. The bus arrives in downtown Nashville near the Omni Hotel at Bob’s Steakhouse. You’ll arrive at the Jack Daniel’s distillery around 11 a.m. to participate in “The Angel’s Share” tour; after a few hours at the distillery, you’ll have free time in Lynchburg for shopping and lunch, and then back to downtown Nashville by 4 p.m.
