Explore the Beauty of Fall in Tennessee near Nashville

Of course, listening to live music, either at the small venues and cafes or larger theaters and auditoriums, is always a popular thing to do in Nashville, regardless of the season. You can count on being entertained in Music City every night of the week and until dawn if you so choose!

Here are our favorite things to do near Nashville this fall:

  1. A Scenic Drive to Belle Meade Winery: Holding the title as Nashville’s oldest winery, it offers a variety of historic tours and wine experiences. Visitors can explore the beautiful grounds, learn about the estate’s rich history, and enjoy wine tastings.
  2. Explore the Gardens of Cheekwood Manor: This botanical garden and art museum hosts a Harvest Festival in the fall, showcasing stunning autumnal displays, seasonal activities, and art exhibitions. It is also home to one of the most recent art installations of Thomas Dambo’s Forest Trolls.
  3. Horseback Riding Lessons at R&M Stables: Horseback riding will be one of the best things to do this fall in Tennessee! Learn general riding techniques and balance, followed by a lovely picnic lunch in the stables.
  4. A Custom Hat-Making Experience: If there are two things Nashville is known for (besides live music), it’s hats and boots! In this curated experience, you’ll craft your own hat with the help of an artisan.
  5. Music History at the Country Music Hall of Fall: This museum in downtown Nashville features extensive exhibits showcasing the history and evolution of country music, including artifacts, photographs, and interactive displays. Visitors can explore the Hall of Fame Rotunda and various exhibitions and enjoy live music events.
  6. Fall Foliage at Radnor Lake State Park: Take a hike or a leisurely walk through this scenic park to witness the beautiful fall colors. The park offers various trails and opportunities for wildlife observation.
  7. Head to a Fall Festival: There’s a great selection of annual events to attend this fall; one of the most well-known is the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, held in the charming small town of Franklin.
  8. Check out the Tennessee Whiskey Distilleries: While you can participate in a bourbon tasting at Belle Air Mansion, there’s something special about heading to the distilleries as well! There’s a lovely selection downtown, including Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery and Corsair Distillery.
